The flashback arrestor is the most important safety equipment that must be used in the oxy-fuel welding or cutting process. The flashback arrestor arrests or stops the flow of gas back into the supply line. It protects the welder and the gas welding equipment from damage and explosion.
The flashback arrestors must be installed at the torch end and at the regulator end of the gas equipment.

The FRT and Protex RO / RA Models of ESAB Flashback arrestors are designed to be connected to the regulator or outlet point. The model is equipped with a large cylindrical arresting element, an automatic reset non-return valve and a heat sensitive thermal cut-off.
