A. Alimohamed & Co. (since 1931) is a name that has withstood
time, weaving a rich tapestry of trust with its customers.
We are stalwarts among dealers of hardware and welding equipments,
with a heritage that dates back to 1931. Having had a keen eye on the
Industrial market for years now, our founders have seen the crests
and troughs of supply and demand – recalling the cost of cement as
‘Rs.4 per bag (50 Kg)’ and builder’s steel as low as ‘less than a Rupee
per Kg’, back in the day.
To date, A. Alimohamed & Co. holds true to our reputation of
Honesty, Consistency, and Commitment. In 1998, they took the agency
of M/s. ESAB INDIA LIMITED and are today its No.1 dealer in Tamil Nadu
and No.2 dealer throughout India.
Set up in 1931, A. Alimohamed & Co. served the united south (Kerala,
Andhra Pradesh & Karnataka) with Agricultural Tools and a few
Engineering items. These were mostly imported under the British
rule.
In Independent India, industrial activities began full-steam around
1960, with major projects coming up at Manali in Madras. Today Tamil
Nadu has become an attractive investment destination for a variety of
reasons such as a peaceful environment and skilled work force. It is
now home to a conglomerate of industries, with our four large ports and
22 minor ports, four international airports and a strong road network
making it a good hub for trade and industry. Meanwhile, our company steadily
grew – supplying quality hardware material at competitive rates to various
industries.
